On November 20, 2015, Transaid - Foundation for Children with Cancer awarded the Fritz-Lampert-Research-Award for outstanding, pioneering scientific achievements in the field of child and adolescent cancer medicine for the sixth time. The price is remunerated with 10,000 euros.

This year's award winner is Prof. Dr. med. Peter Bader, Deputy Director of the Department of Paediatrics- and Adolescent Medicine at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main.

Prof. Bader and his research group show in their prospective clinical study that monitoring at an early stage can predict on minimal residual disease relapses of leukemia after stem cell transplantation in most cases in order that a further therapeutic intervention for the prevention of recrudescence is possible.

The Work with highest clinical relevance was adopted in Journal of Clinical Oncology, one of the leading oncology journals for publication, and found both national and international attention.

The award ceremony was attended by the eponym of the price, Prof. Fritz Lampert and took place in the frame of the 86th Scientific Meeting of the Society for Paediatric Oncology and Haematology (GPOH) in the Children's Hospital of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
